History Of National Teachers Day
National Teachers Day is celebrated every year in the US on the first Tuesday of May to appreciate the important role played by teachers.
The day dates back to the 1940s when a group of teachers requested the President to create a day to honor teachers. In the year 1980, this day was officially recognized by the Congress.
On National Teacher’s Day, students show appreciation for their teachers through various mediums. This can include writing thank-you notes, creating artwork or crafts, or even organizing special events or activities to honor your teachers.
Many schools and educational institutions also celebrate National Teachers’ Day with special programs or activities. This may include gatherings, award ceremonies, or other activities to honor teachers and their contributions to student education.
Teachers are the source of knowledge, guide, their role model and inspiration to their students, along with the parents, the teacher has a big hand in imparting values in the lives of the children.
